What are Neurological Disorders?
Neurological disorders are diseases of the brain, spine, and the nerves that connect them. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological disorder that is often detected through problems with vision. Almost all MS patients will experience a visual disturbance in their lifetimes. MS prevents the eyes from working together, resulting in double vision and difficulty reading or watching television. One of the most common vision issues for people with multiple sclerosis is optic neuritis, which can cause vision loss in one eye.
Stroke, aneurysms, or brain tumors can also cause visual changes. Brain infections that affect the right part of the brain can also impact your vision.
How can Foley Vision Center Help Me?
If you are experiencing issues with your vision, schedule an appointment with Dr. Foley. Dr. Foley focuses on visual problems due to brain issues. If she sees that everything in the eye itself appears fine, then you should consider the possibility that the visual problem is due to a neurologic cause.
